Rada extends electronic procurement for all budget-funded procurement from 2016

Rada extends electronic procurement for all budget-funded procurement from 2016The Ukrainian parliament has passed a bill on public procurement (No. 3559) that extends all electronic procurement to all budget-funded procurement.

A total of 244 MPs supported the document, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported.

"The bill extends electronic procurement – our successful pilot project that has saved UAH 500 million for the state – to all procurement," Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Maksym Nefyodov said in the parliament, presenting the document.

He said that some 2,300 customers have been connected to the Prozzoro pilot project, and procurement worth UAH 6.5 billion has been conducted. Some 12% of the budget-set price was saved.

"In 2016, the passed endorsed document would allow saving up to UAH 4.5 billion in the consolidated budget, and in 2017 when it will work for the whole year – it will save from UAH 35 billion to UAH 40 billion," Nefyodov said.

The bill will take effect from April 1, 2016 for central executive power and customers that operate in some areas, and from August 1, 2015 for all customers.
