Crimea NewsBritish Ambassador in Russia refused to attend a meeting of Russian Foreign Ministry on Skripal’s case.
The representatives of the Embassy informed about this, AFP reports.
“The Ambassador will not be present at the meeting,” the spokesperson of British Embassy in Moscow said.
Besides, it was mentioned that another diplomat will be present at the meeting – “on a working level”.
The Head of the EU Commission delegation in Russia refused to come at the meeting. He claimed that he would be abroad and noted that his Deputy, Karlsson Sven-Olov will be present at the meeting.
It was reported, that the invitations were sent to all the ambassadors in Russia on Tuesday. Russia is going to present its version of the events in Salisbury and Skripal’s poisoning. Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, said that the meeting will become a “chance for Russia to express their position before other states”.
Earlier, Britain expelled 23 Russian diplomats from the country because of Skripal’s case.
