Ukraine doubles its deficit in foreign trade of goods in Jan-Nov 2017

Ukraine’s deficit in foreign trade in goods in January-November 2017 was $5.212 billion, the State Service Statistics has reported, Interfax-Ukraine reports. This means that it grew by 2.2 times compared to the same period in 2016 when it was $2.330 billion.

According to the service’s data, the deficit in foreign trade in goods in November 2017 was $638.7 million, in October it became $700.8 million, while the figure in September was $593.1 million.

Exports of goods in the period between January and November 2017 in comparison to the same period in 2016 increased by 20.6% (or by $6.753 billion in absolute terms), bringing the total figure to $39.49 billion. During the same period, imports has risen by 27.5% (or by $9.635 billion) to reach $44.698 billion.

The ratio of imports coverage to exports was fixed at 0.88, whereas in the 11 months of 2016 it was 0.93. The service pointed out that foreign trade transactions were performed with entities from 221 countries.
