Hepatitis outbreak in Kharkiv region: number of patients rise to 29 people

The number of patients with hepatitis A in Balakliya district of Kharkiv region increased to 29 people, 14 of them are children. This was stated in a message on the
website] and Consumer Protection chief department in Kharkov region.
"As for today, the number of cases has increased to 29 people, 27 of them are from Andriivka, and two from Donets village. There are 7 families where there are two to four patients, 14 patients are children, "the department noted.
Two patients refused to be hospitalized, all the rest are being treated at the Balakliya central district hospital.

"During the epidemiological investigation violations of the sanitary legislation were revealed: for example, the sources of water supply are kept in an inadequate condition, the population is not provided with quality drinking water," the department said.
According to Kharkiv regional laboratory center, local residents are given memos with information about how to protect themselves from hepatitis A, advised to drink only boiled water, the question of vaccinations is being solved.
As it was reported earlier the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine held the meeting where the abolishment of the decree
that includes the list of more than 450 works that are banned for the women was discussed. The Ministry thinks that the list contradicts the demands of the EU legislation, international liabilities of Ukraine on the gender policy of the Constitution.
