Tibor Tompa FacebookOrganizers of the rally for Zakarpattia self-determination, scheduled for the evening of October 13 near Embassy of Ukraine in Budapest are “unknown people, losers, and castoffs”, who have nothing to do with the Hungarian power, Deputy Head of the society of Hungarians in Kyiv Tibor Tompa told 112.UA.
When asked if the rally for Zakarpattia self-determination represents the official attitude of Hungary, Tompa said it “100% doesn’t represent” it.
Tompa also noted that he made some research into the personalities of organizers.
“Those are some absolutely unknown people, losers, and castoffs who have nothing to do with Hungary, or the majority of the population, or power. They aren’t even related to Jobbik (Hungarian radical nationalist party, - 112.int). Those are some former radicals, whom nobody knows about, and they just want to draw attention to themselves, that’s all. Ukrainians and Hungarians don’t need to worry. Most of the Hungarians in Ukraine are for Zakarpattia being a part of Ukraine,” the representative of the society of Hungarians in Kyiv is convinced.
As it was reported earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary informed the Ukrainian Embassy about the rally on October 13 under the slogan “Self-determination for Zakarpattia”.
Later on, speaker of the Zakarpattia City State Administration Yaroslav Galas said that Jobbik was organizing the rally.
