Open sourceOn the day of Ukrainian Cinema, celebrated September 9, the Lithuanian Oscar committee decided to submit Frost, directed by Sarunas Bartas, for the Academy Award, according to Channel 5.
Film makers from Lithuania, Ukraine, France, and Poland collaborated on the the creation of the movie. It tells a story of two Lithuanians, who are bringing humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian soldiers in Donbas. There they see the war at arm’s length, and try to comprehend it.
Some of the scenes were filmed in the Dobas conflict zone, 200-300 meters away from the front line. The film is to be released in Ukraine on October 5.
