European Commissioner Johannes Hahn congratulates Zelensky on victory in presidential race

European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Johannes Hahn congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on victory at the presidential elections in Ukraine on Twitter.
“I congratulate the Ukrainian people on their show of democratic maturity
and the President elect, Volodymyr Zelensky, on his victory,” Hahn wrote on Twitter.

At the same time, he expressed the hope that a new head of the Ukrainian state will fight against corruption more vigorously and will release the country from the capture of oligarchs.

Earlier the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on winning the presidential election. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed his intentions to continue defending of Ukraine’s integrity during phone talk with Zelensky.
According to the National exit poll, Volodymyr Zelensky has 73,2%, while Petro Poroshenko gets 25,3%.
The second round of the elections of the President of Ukraine kicked off in Ukraine on April 21, at 8 a.m. Ukraine’s polling stations opened as scheduled across the country with some minor delays, which were quickly addressed. The voting traditionally lasted for 12 hours; the polls closed at 8 p.m.

Earlier Petro Poroshenko commented on the results of the exit polls and congratulated Zelensky on victory in the second tour of the elections.
