NATO increases military presence in Black Sea region, - Stoltenberg

NATO is monitoring situation in the Black Sea and increases its military presence in the region, as Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the Alliance, said at the press conference in Brussels, Eurointegration reported.
“NATO has increased its presence in Black Sea region. Last year we have increased the presence of NATO vessels in Black Sea from 80 to 120 says. We have a mission of air police in the region, and there is also a multinational brigade in Romania,” Stoltenberg said.

He noted that the Alliance will support Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and will provide political and practical aid.
“We provide support in various forms: we help to modernize the armed forces, command system, counter the cyber threats. Some allies also provide assistance on a bilateral basis by equipment and training,” Stoltenberg stated.

NATO Secretary General announced the Alliance’s intentions to increase the military presence in Black Sea region in June 2018. Earlier, President Poroshenko said that calling of several NATO ships would be one of the possible ways to help Ukraine in this situation.
