Ukrainian athlete Olexandr Havrylenko won a gold medal in the powerlifting at the Invictus Games as the Ukrainian team reported on Facebook.
“We congratulate Olexandr Havrylenko on the gold medal at Invictus Games Sydney 2018 presented by Jaguar Land Rover in the middleweight powerlifting! Three attempts and each of them was record-breaking – 165 kg, 172 kg, and finally 177 kg,” the message said.

Earlier we reported that Ukrainian athletes Oleksandr Bilobokov and Serhiy Ilnytsky won the gold medals at the Invictus Games indoor rowing competition. Another bronze went to Ukraine's chest, as Denys Fishchuk got the medal at the bicycle race event.

The Invictus Games kicked off in Australia on October 20. Ukraine is represented by 15 athletes who compete in six kinds of sports.
