Ukraine's boxer Oleksandr Usyk
Oleksandr Usyk FacebookFormer absolute world heavyweight champion of the world Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk will come back on the ring this autumn, as Boxing News 24 reported.
Oleksandr was supposed to debut in heavyweight on May 25, but the fight with Carlos Takam (36-5-1, 28 КО) was delayed due to trauma. Nothing was reported about his future opponent.
It should be added that before Usyk’s fight, Vasyl Lomachenko will step into the ring. In late August, he will fight with Luke Campbell in England.
Firstly, Usyk’s debut in the super heavyweight category was planned against Povetkin on May 17. However, the negotiations had lasted for too long, so the fight conditions had to be changed.
Earlier, the World Boxing Association (WBA) obliged Oleksandr Usyk to protect his title against the Russian Denis Lebedev. In case of refusal, Usyk will lose the status of an absolute champion with his WBA belt. Denis Lebedev will compete for the vacant title with undefeated Lawrence Okolie.
