Retail trade growth in Ukraine

Retail sales in Ukraine increased by 3.1% in January-August 2016, as compared to the same period last year (in constant prices), amounting to UAH 731.6 billion, UNIAN.

According to the State Statistics Service, the highest retail turnover growth was recorded in Lviv and Kyiv regions – by 7.7% and 7.3%, to UAH 43.3 billion and UAH 38.5 billion, respectively.

Donetsk region is reported to have the most drastic decline in trade turnover– by 5.9% to UAH 24.9 billion.

Retail turnover in Kyiv grew by 3.9% in the period under review, to UAH 116 billion.

The data monitored excluded the temporarily-occupied territory of the Russian-annexed Crimea and part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.
