Dutchmen might be forced to become organ donors posthumouslyThe Dutch Parliament might oblige its citizens to become organ donors after death, Hromadske.

The House of Representatives of the Netherlands's Parliament voted for a package of laws, which if approved by the Senate and the King will introduce the mandatory post-mortem organ donation.

Among 150 members of the Dutch parliament, 75 MPs voted for the bill, 74 voted against, with one deputy missing the session.

The party "Democrats-66" initiated the bill and expect it will help to get more organs for transplantation.

According to the party, 150 Dutchmen could survive if have organs transplanted in timely fashion each year.

In March 2012, a similar law was passed in Ecuador and Uruguay forcing residents over 18 to automatically become organ donors posthumously.
