The Prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea plans to direct an accusation act against the arrested head of Ria News Ukraine Kyrylo Vyshynsky. Prosecutor of Autonomous Republic of Crimea Gunduz Mamedov claimed this, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
He claimed that Kherson Appeal Court the dismissed the appeal of the defense of Vyshynsky on Tuesday, October 23, he continues to be in the custody.
‘Regarding the investigation of the case, I can say that we are planning to send an indictment against Vyshynsky to the court by the end of November,’ Mamedov claimed.
According to him, currently, ballistic and linguistic examinations are held, and they work with witnesses, among who are reporters from the agency.
‘We currently have no complaints about these journalists,’ Mamedov summarized.
On May 15, Ukraine's Security Service considered the detention of the head of RIA News Ukraine agency’s office.
Kremlin has already responded to the incident and called the actions of the SBU outrageous. Also, Russia promised to assume reciprocal measures. Then, the state sent a protest note over searches at the mass media office.
Later it was reported that the actions of Vyshynsky were preliminarily qualified as the state treason. The same day the SBU reported that Kyrylo Vyshynsky is now officially suspected of state treason.
Recently, there are statements about his exchange for the convicted Ukrainians kept in Russia.
On September 6, the arrest of Vyshynsky was extended until November 30.
