The maximum size of the Russian mission to NATO would be reduced to 20 employees, expelling 7 staff and denying the pending accreditation to 3 more. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that during a news conference in Brussels held on Tuesday.
Stoltenberg says "we will continue to work for meaningful dialogue" with Russia but the measure announced Tuesday "send a very clear message to Russia that it has costs."

As we reported earlier, Belgium, the US, Canada and 18 EU countries reported on the expulsion of the Russian diplomats. Ukraine also joined the sanctions and claimed about the expulsion of 13 diplomats.

A spokesman for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that London's actions in the case of Sergey Skripal's poisoning are "unprecedented rudeness".
