Poroshenko urges Georgia to join development work at sanctions mechanism against Russia

Petro] urged Georgia to joint the development work at the sanctions mechanism against Russia. The press service of the Ukrainian reported this after the meeting with Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament.
'The Head of State emphasized that the mechanism of sanctions against Russia is now being improved and the Georgian party can join the process', the message said.

Poroshenko noted that the participation of Georgia will help draw greater attention and stimulate Europe to continue sanctions against Russia.
'We can add Georgian component for South Ossetia and Abkhazia', the president added.

Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the Georgian side for the provision of the opportunity for the wounded Ukrainian warriors and their families to get rehabilitation in Georgia.
Moreover, the sides noted the importance of implementation of the Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and Georgia signed during the Ukrainian President’s state visit to Georgia in July 2017.
Also, the parties expressed the mutual interest in the enhancement of inter-parliamentary ties between the countries. Particularly, they discussed close coordination of positions within the international parliamentary assemblies, firstly PACE, and the international organizations.

Kobakhidze noted that the high level of the Georgian Delegation to Ukraine shows the special interest of Georgia in the cooperation with Ukraine in the economy and political spheres.
The sides also discussed the joint celebration of 100th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Georgia that will be celebrated on July 4.
