No US airplanes over Ukrainian Dnipro and SimferopolThe US aviation authorities have extended until the end of October 2018 the ban preventing flights in Simferopol and Dnipro for all US air carriers, Interfax.

The extension of the ban, that was previously extended for a year on October 27, 2015, will come into force on October 27, 2016 in the wake of continuing conflict in Ukrainian Donbas, according to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

As reported, the US Federal Aviation Administration from December 29, 2014 prohibited civil aviation flights over Simferopol and Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro).

In a statement it reported: "This action extends the area, in which flights of the persons, defined by Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) No. 113, are prohibited, including the entire area of in-flight responsibility of Simferopol and Dnipropetrovsk."

The document applies to all US air carriers, US commercial operators, persons exercising the privileges of a US airman certificate, except when such persons are operating a US registered aircraft for a foreign air carrier, and operators of US registered civil aircraft, except when such operators are foreign air carriers.
