Ukrainian Security Service annulls accreditation of Russian Novaya Gazeta's correspondent

Ukrainian Security Service annulls accreditation of Russian Novaya Gazeta's correspondentThe Ukrainian State Security Service (SBU) has confirmed the annulment of Russian Novaya Gazeta correspondent Yulia Polukhina's accreditation for divulging Ukrainian government forces' positions in Donbas.

"The journalist's accreditation has been annulled based on a request from the ATO [antiterrorist operation] press center," Ukrainian Security Service spokesperson Olena Hytlianska told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

Polukhina has been stripped of her accreditation "for publicizing videos and photos divulging Ukrainian troops' positions," Hytlianska said.

The Ukrainian military operation's headquarters reported on July 8 that it would seek the suspension of the accreditations of journalists from Russia's Novaya Gazeta and a Ukrainian TV channel for posting videos online in which the enemy could identify Ukrainian government forces' positions.

Novaya Gazeta said in response to the accusations by the Ukrainian military operation's press center that its correspondent had not videotaped Ukrainian armed forces' firing points or positions in Donbas but only shot some videos inside the troops' provisional shelter.
