President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is disappointed by PACE decision to return authorities to the Russian delegation as he reported on
FacebookZelensky is sure that Russia should get a right for return only if it fulfills all demands of the assembly.
“Last week I personally discussed this issue with the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany. I tried to persuade Mr. Macron and Mrs. Merkel that the return of the Russian delegation to PACE is possible only as Russia fulfills the principal demands of the Assembly. Too bad that our European partners did not hear us and acted otherwise,” Zelensky wrote.

President of Ukraine noted that he wants to see how, after the return of the authorities to the Russian delegation, PACE will “defend and demand return of the Ukrainian prisoners”. He also reminded that today, June 25 is the closing day of the fulfillment of the order of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, according to which, Russia had to release Ukrainian sailors.
Earlier it was reported that the delegations of Ukraine and Georgia launched a complaints procedure in PACE
over Russia’s return to the organization.
As it was reported, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution which changes the sanctions regime and allows Russia to return to work in the organization without limitations to the right to vote.

Moreover, British Prime Minister Theresa May supported the lifting of the sanctions pressure from Russia.
On the eve, the PACE refused to hold the urgent debates concerning the Russian issue.
