U.S. intends to strengthen sanctions against Iran

The United States intends to strengthen sanctions against Iran, President Donald Trump said on Saturday, June 22. This is

"We will introduce additional sanctions against Iran," Trump said on Saturday in Washington.

The U.S. President noted that sometimes such measures are being adopted slowly.

Trump also stressed that military solutions to the Iranian problem
are still being considered.

After the decision to cancel a military strike on Iran, the United States was reportedly asked to convene an extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council. Consultations on the "recent issues around Iran" will be held on June 24, behind closed doors.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called for a peaceful solution to the conflict between the United States of America and Iran. This is reported by DW.

Merkel noted that the conflict that erupted between the United States and Iran should be resolved in a political way. Also, the German Chancellor assured that she was ready to help in solving this crisis.

"(...) for this you need not just hope, but rather to carry out the most serious work. In my opinion, there must be a political solution (of the conflict, - 112 International)," she said.

In addition, Merkel added that during the G20 summit next week in Japanese Osaka, the issue of resolving the crisis in relations between Washington and Tehran will be raised.
