Ukraine could get the second tranche of EU macro-financial aid in the amount of 500 million Euros. This is possible to happen by late 2019. Hugues Mingarelli, the Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine said this as quoted by Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
'(...) We hope that in the next few months, Ukraine will live up to all necessary conditions to get the sum, and we all are working on it. We hope that by the end of the year, Ukraine will get the second loan from the EU', reads the message.

Mingarelli specified that there are five conditions that Ukraine still has to live up to. There concern fighting corruption and reforms in the economy. 'The most important one is the introduction of the automatized check of e-declarations of government officials, performed by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention'.
The EU was supposed to close books on considering providing Ukraine with the second loan of 500 million Euros, within the fourth program of EU macroeconomic assistance, after the Ukrainian side lives up to all requirements. The tranches of this aid were divided into halves, 500 million Euros each. It was expected that the first tranche would reach Ukraine in autumn 2018, after the respective internal procedures were complete; the second one was supposed to reach Ukraine in spring 2019, as the EU would assess how well the Ukrainian government conducted specific state policy reforms.
