Ukraine should join Digital Single Market over the next five years. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a meeting with the business representatives in Kyiv on June 20.
'To us, it's more than just a bright motto; it's the way to cut the state budget expenses and to increase the quality of service, removing the conditions for corruption and increasing transparency. Then, we plan to create the Big Data eco-system to shape the innovative economy. We don't want just Kyiv or Lviv in a smartphone, we want the state of Ukraine in a smartphone. This is why we need to provide high-quality Internet and cell phone connection over all the territory of Ukraine. Joining the European Digital Single Market is another task of ours over five years', Zelensky said.

Earlier, the Ukrainian leader said he would like to fit the Ukrainian government 'in a smartphone'. 'How cool it would be to go to work and get the updates - not just the news or the weather forecast; you have a real chance to keep the track what kind of bills are submitted. You can amend them. You can decide, who of these dudes - excuse my choice of word - who of these people can be chosen, who of these can be recalled; you can control what kind of petitions people file or how you can contribute to this or that draft bill... So, I really dream of this country in the smartphone', he said.
