A charitable action “Photo to Help” gathered 2,5 thousands hryvnas for the army needs

In the open air on Svoboda square for the price of 5 hryvnas professional photographs were taking patriotic pictures for all comers. The money from the photo-shoot was used for the needs of Ukrainian army. The idea belongs to Alina Savchenko, the reporter at Kherson regional state television and radio broadcasting company “Skifiya”. She was inspired by close communication with soldiers she met during her trips to the security roadblocks along the boarder with Crimea. Professional photographers quickly picked up her idea: Denis Maksimov, the President of the photo club “Fresh Vision” and Aleksandr Andriushchenko, a professional with 30-years experience.

Many citizens, charity funds, journalists, businessmen and politicians joined the unusual action. Among them are: the member of Kherson city council Eliko Markeliya, the coordinator of the European formation centre of Kherson library n.a. Oles Honchar Nataliya Shalnova, the President of the Kherson Community Fund “Zashchita” Larisa Polskaya and many others.

The payment for photos was only 5 hryvnas, but people were paying more when found out the purpose of the charity action.  In total, the charity action “Photo to Help” gathered UAH 1975. After the end of the event, people kept bringing the money so that the final amount comprised 2,5 thousands hryvnas. A tent, sleeping mats, fruits, fuel, and top-up cards for the cell-phones - all these presents were handed over to the assistant armament division commander, Petr Gryshchuk.
