A widespread Amazon Web Services outage affected Amazon's routing software Tuesday morning PT.A

Drivers on the West Coast hadn't loaded up yet and Amazon sent them home with pay around 1 p.m. PT.A 


Amazon told some West Coast delivery service partners to send drivers home around 1 p.m. PT Tuesday after an Amazon Web Services outage stalled the company's routing software, one delivery service partner (or DSP) told Insider.The Amazon Web Services outage began around 7 a.m. PT, according to DownDetector.A Many delivery drivers on the East Coast likely loaded their vans and started their routes ahead of the outage, but then had to pull over to the side of the road when the software went down around 9 a.m. PT, the delivery partner said."At least the East Coast is loaded and part-delivered," the DSP said at 11:30 a.m. PT. "We haven't even started."
