Stuck at home with little to do during the past year other than work, many employees across fields like tech, finance, and consulting are facing burnout - a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion brought on by prolonged periods of stress.Recognizing that more than encouraging time off is needed to combat this, some companies have resorted to drastic measures in an effort to restore balance in their employees' lives. San Francisco-based LinkedIn gave workers the entire first week of April off. Citigroup recently banned video calls on Fridays. Meanwhile, Los Angeles-based GoodRx has had burnout on the mind since the holidays."We've been growing like a rocket ship and more than doubled our headcount since the start of the pandemic," Doug Hirsch, cofounder and co-CEO, told Insider. The company, aimed at helping consumers find low-cost prescription drugs, raised more than $1 billion during its IPO last September and reported revenue of $550 million for 2020, up 42% over the year prior.
