USAID allocates $7 mln for privatization in Ukraine

USAID allocates $7 mln for privatization in UkraineThe U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will allocate $5–7 million in financial aid to Ukraine on preparation for privatization of the state-owned enterprises. Chairman of the Ukraine's State Property Fund Ihor Bilous said this at the briefing on Monday.

"We have held talks with the USAID and the EBRD. The negotiations are practically over. The USAID will provide very substantial financial support, worth about USD 5-7 million," Bilous said.

According to him, this money will be spent to prepare the state-owned enterprises for privatization.

Bilous said that it would be allocated some USD 300,000-500,000 for every facility subject to privatization. "We'll get completely different quality of privatization and information supply, hence awareness of the investors will rise," he noted.
