The incident took place in the town of Izmail, Odesa region, on Sunday evening in the courtyard where the car was parked at the time.
The shattered window glass wounded the serviceman’s wife and daughter, while he was not injured.
A source in the local police reports that the explosive device was not powerful enough to kill anyone; ‘if all family members were in the car no one would have suffered at all’, the source said, assuming it was apparently an attempt to intimidate the serviceman.
