Winds, snowstorms left 152 towns, villages in Ukraine without electricity (VIDEO)Adverse weather conditions have left 152 towns and villages in Ukraine without electricity, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.

“Overnight into April 19, bad weather conditions (rain, wet snow, gusts of wind) caused blackouts in 152 populated areas in six regions, particularly: 73 villages and towns - in Dnipropetrovsk region, 38 – in Kharkiv region, 35 –in Poltava region, 4 – in Kherson region, 1 – in Kirovohrad region, and 1 – in Zaporizhzhia region,” reads a report.

Emergency teams of Oblenergo have started to conduct needed repairs to resume electricity supply.

Unusual for April snowfall and strong winds caused traffic jams in Kharkov and Poltava regions.

Due to heavy snowing in Dnipro, the Southern Ukraine, a temporary limitation for heavy vehicles is introduced in the region, the Traffic Safety Administration of the Department of the National Police of Ukraine reports.

The entry to Dnipro is blocked from two sides due to a huge traffic jam because of the difficult meteorologic conditions. The territory of the airport is also blocked, according to Yuriy Zinchenko, the Illicha steel plant Director, Facebook post.

The schools are closed until Friday, according to the Dnipro mayor Borys Filatov.
