Hague court orders Russia to protect Ukrainian investors in annexed CrimeaRussia has obligation to protect Ukrainian investors in Crimea after its annexation according to the bilateral agreement on investments protection.This was ruled out by the arbitrators in Permanent Court of Arbitration in Hague.

This is reported by 112 UA TV Channel citing Investment Arbitration Reporter agency.

Earlier the court announced that it has ruled out the decision concerning some questions of jurisdiction and admissibility in cases of PrivatBank and its former owner Ihor Kolomoysky against Russia in connection with Crimea annexation.

“On February 24, 2017, after the debates, the members of the arbitrage unanimously ruled out an interim decision concerning some questions of jurisdiction and admissibility,” the message in arbitrage agency from March 9, 2017.

There is no additional information about the decision

“In jurisdiction ruling, arbitrators rule that Russia is obliged under bit to protect Ukrainian investors in Crimea following annexation ,” the message says.
