Dzhemilev: Pro-Russian government of Crimea want to make indigenous people leave peninsulaSearches, interrogations and criminal investigations against Crimean Tatars by Russian authorities and law enforcers are supposed to make the Crimea’s indigenous people leave the peninsula. Mustafa Dzhemilev, Ukrainian MP, Presidential Envoy on Rights of Crimean Tatars and their long-standing leader, said this as quoted by Krym.Realii.

“They (pro-Russian government of Crimea) are trying to scare people and make them keep silence. There’s another goal, to make ethnic Crimean Tatars leave the peninsula. Just like in the Stalinist era of the USSR, they want to have ethnically pure, “purely Russian” Crimea. The occupants fear Crimean Tatars so much they don’t even honor any norms or laws”, Dzhemilev said.
