Love with special effects: "The Huntsman: Winter's War" (VIDEO)Four years ago, in the first "Huntsman", Cedric Nicolas-Troyan was the director of special effects. This time he became a director of the film. And that explains a lot ...

In an interview to Ivona, he said that this is already HIS film about " The Huntsman: Winter's War" – the film about love. I am not quite sure whether he was able to tell us something about love in his film, but he certainly didn’t fail with the special effects. And if you need love without them, you definitely shouldn’t go to this movie. And if you prefer love with special effects, then you are welcome to the theater.

This work was the first for him. And Cedric decided not to waste his time on trifles, and immediately "bought" new women – the stars for himself for the roles of the Huntsman’s wife and the sister of Queen Ravenna. So, in the new film, we see Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt.

The lovers of fairy tales will be disappointed by the new film. The tale ended in the first part of it. In the second there is the idea of love seen through the eyes of Cedric. As for the Rabbi, then, according to the director, Charlize Theron is a "beautiful fun actress and her character is loved by the audience. Therefore, we immediately knew that she would return to the movie, so to speak, she shall rise again. "Well, the Huntsman is still the same - Chris Hemsworth. By the way, the quartet of leading actors is international. Jessica is American, Emily is Briton, Chris - Australian, Charlize is from the South Africa. And given the fact that Cedric is a Frenchman it could turn out in a love story. Alas ...

By the way, he might have not become the director of this film. Initially Rupert Sanders was planned to be a director and continue the story - he, who made this story a hit. The budget of the first "Huntsman" was $ 170 million (including marketing costs). On the day of the premiere the film earned 20.3 million dollars, and eventually grossed 396,592,829 dollars.

And so, there was no reason to remove Sanders from the project. But he withdrew himself. In July 2012, “US Weekly” published the photos of Sanders embraced with the actress Kristen Stewart, who starred in the first film in the role of Snow White.

It turned out to be a very soap-opera story. Kristen said that Rupert had authority over her in the process of filming and suppressed her by his experience and age. And Stewart was afraid to refuse him and ruin her career. Ha-ha-ha ...

Kristen issued a public apology to her partner on the "twilight" film, and in real life, Robert Pattinson, for having cheated on him with married Sanders, but ... As a result there is neither Sanders nor Stewart in the picture.

Or maybe it's all for the best. It is unlikely that they were able to save such an unemotional film which was not "pulled" up neither by the notorious special effects, nor by playing of actors, performing the leading roles, nor even by the four hilarious gnomes played by Nick Frost, Rob Brydon, Sheridan Smith and Alexandra Roach.

"In the cardboard story about love there is only one living person, Hemsworth, who departs from the image of the dark drunkards from the first film and with his smile turns on his powerful charisma. And if Blunt could be excused for the lack of emotions – she still has the heart of ice, than a good actress Jessica Chastain gives the impression of simply passing by. It seems that she does not fully understand what is happening.

Dwarves, goblins, witches… Is it a parody sketch of SNL or what? ... Nicolas-Troyan enthusiastically takes pictures of luxury dresses and magnificent castles, gold, ice and sparkling metals, but he cannot breathe life into a fairy tale. This is particularly unfortunate in the light of the fact how much the heroes talk about love. They speak that even a frozen heart can melt if one trusts the feelings. Still, the "Huntsman" has nothing inside but the solid scenery and zero of sincerity ... ", - said, for example, Yuri Shevchenko, who wrote a review on this film for”

And he's right, though, I would not be so categorical. "The Huntsman: Winter's War" resembles to a lover for one evening. There could be a number of special effects, but from the standpoint of love it is a zero. It is really a shallow story...
