Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov sentenced to 20 years in Russian prison went on a hunger strike on May 14. His only demand is to release all Ukrainians detained in Russia and annexed Crimea. He is ready to die in case his demands are not fulfilled.

The numerous rallies in support of Sentsov took place all over the world. World leaders stood for Sentsov; however, he is still in Labytnangi prison.

Ukraine calls Sentsov's health state critical, while Russia assures it's "satisfactory". Ukrainian ombudswoman claimed she is ready to discuss any terms for his release.

Sentsov's mother appealed to release her son. Russia claimed Sentsov himself should write a motion for pardon.
