The Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine
(AMCU) has fined four companies for violations of the laws on the protection of economic competition – namely for unreasonable raise of the price of medicines. The press service of the institution has informed about this, 112.ua reports.

The companies in question are Roche Ukraine, BaDM, Business Center Farmatsiya and Alba Ukraine.
The companies have been caught entering agreements whose conditions would lead to a raise of the price of medicines procured through the public or state procurement platform in 2012-2016. The entire amount reached some UAH 18 million ($660,000). The biggest fine was issued to Roche Ukraine – UAH 9.1 million. At the same time, BaDM was ordered to pay UAH 5.4 million, Business Center Farmatsiya – UAH 3.2 million, and Alba Ukraine – UAH 339,000.

The companies are also ordered to refrain from violations within a two-month period.
Earlier, the Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine has advised Ukrainians to use the free smartphone app called “Medicine Control” that allows one to check the price and reliability of that or another drug.
