Since the introduction of the "Ukraine without smuggling
" initiative (June 21), the state budget of Ukraine received some $1.4 billion in customs duties. The acting head of the State Fiscal Service Myroslav Prodan wrote so on his Facebook page, 112.ua reports.

"Since the start of the "Ukraine without smuggling" initiative – from June 21 to July 30 – the state treasury has received a total of over $1.1 billion in customs duties. In fact, the revenue added some UAH 6 billion over the corresponding period of the previous year.
According to him, the state budget received over $1.1 billion, which exceeds last year's figure by $140 million. All in all, the indicators added some $130 million, while the average daily revenue is already greater than UAH 1.4 billion.

"The positive balance of the customs revenue is equal to the required annual amount of funding for benefits and subsidies on utilities. And that is the result of just one month. However, the increased revenue is not the only consequence of counteracting “the shadow”. With lower “gray” goods transportation, legal importers are now enjoying a larger market share. By abandoning illegal imports, we are creating the conditions for investment in the development of Ukrainian manufacturing," Prodan added.
At its meeting on June 20, 2018, the Cabinet set the action plan in regards to counteraction to smuggling. Also, the country’s Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman listed 10 schemes most commonly used by smugglers.
Also, the government decree expanding the police authority in its oversight of the customs services has entered its full legal force.
