Ukrainian political prisoner Volodymyr Balukh was moved out of Simferopol remand facility to consult the case file, as deputy leader of Mejlis of Crimean Tatars Akhtem Chyigoz told KrymRelii.
“Balukh was removed to consult the case file about four days ago. He is in Rozdolne temporary confinement ward. He has this right and he was given a chance to use it. The investigator brings him the materials and he read it. Probably, he’ll return today,” Chyigoz said.
According to him, Balukh is being kept in a mass cell in Simferopol remand facility, regardless of his health condition. He does not intend to stop the hunger strike“.

As is known, Volodymyr Balukh was sentenced to three years and seven months in a settlement colony. He was charged and judged for the alleged illegal storage of ammunition. Human right defenders say Balukh was judged for his pro-Ukrainian position - specifically, for the Ukrainian flag in his yard.
In March, protesting against his illegal detention, Balukh announced a hunger strike. which he lives up to by now.

Earlier, Natalia Balukh, the mother of Ukrainian political prisoner Volodymyr Balukh said she would not ask Russian leader Vladimir Putin to pardon her son Volodymyr Balukh, who currently serves time as the Kremlin's political prisoner.
Krym.Realii news agency quoted her, as she said she would not turn to Putin. 'Vova (Volodymyr Balukh, - 112 International) would not understand me, he would get the wrong idea. He would not ask for forgiveness. Asking means pleading guilty, and he can't do that because he is innocent', she said.
