The Moscow Court delivered a sentence to Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko on June 4 – he was recognized guilty in espionage and imprisoned for 12 years in hard labor colony.
The Prosecutor's Office demanded 14 years of the imprisonment; the lawyers insisted that Sushchenko is innocent.
On May 28, Sushchenko confirmed his plea during the last word and asked for the acquittal.

The case was classified, it was considered in the closed regime.
The appeal to the court's decision should be filed tomorrow.
Sushchenko was arrested on September 30, 2016, in Moscow where he was for his own reasons. On October 7 he was accused of the espionage.

The FSB considers him an officer of the Ukrainian intelligence who gathered the data about the activity of the Armed Forces and National Guard of Russia. Chief Intelligence Department of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine belies this.
Ukraine and the world community demanded from Russia to release Sushchenko many times.
