Kyrylo Vyshynsky, the editor-in-chief of RIA News-Ukraine agency
suspected in the state treason, has claimed at the Appeal court session in Kharkiv that he refuses from the Ukrainian citizenship as Hromadske reported.

Vyshynsky also appealed to Russia's President Putin for the protection.
'I appeal to President Poroshenko whom I personally know and with whom we have done a few good deeds. I claim about the withdrawal from the Ukrainian citizenship, from this moment I consider myself only as the citizen of the Russian Federation. I appeal to President Putin with a request to provide me the legal protection and assume measures toward my release', Vyshynsky claimed.

As it was reported earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea have exposed the network of the media entities controlled by the Russian Federation.
The law enforcement bodies held the investigative actions at the office of RIA News-Ukraine.
On May 15, the SBU considered the detention of the head of RIA News Ukraine agency’s office.

On May 17, Vyshynsky was arrested for two months in Kherson.
Moreover, Putin mentioned Vyshynsky when the French journalist asked him about Oleh Sentsov.
