Vladislav Surkov, the advisor to Russian president Vladimir Putin and the curator of pro-Kremlin militants in Ukraine, may soon leave the office. Sources in the presidential administration reported that as quoted by Kommersant.
Mikhail Babich, the current presidential envoy in Volga federal district, is the most likely candidate to replace Surkov by the end of this week, the interlocutor said.

The source added that since the beginning of the year, Surkov 'ceased to work' in the area of social and economic cooperation with the CIS member states, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The interlocutor also says that Putin may sign decrees that foresee changes in the line-up.
As is known, Vladislav Surkov is known as the designer of the armed Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine. He has been leading the Russian mercenaries in Donbas ever since the beginning of the armed conflict. He's been banned from entering the United States since March 2014, due to his assumed involvement in Crimea's annexation by Russia in February 2014.
