Ukraine's Oleg Sentsov, illegally held in the Russian prison, announced a hunger strike as a protest against sentences for Ukrainian citizens in Russia, is observed by the prison doctors, as the press-office of the Federal Penitentiary Service Regional Office reported.
“On May 14 the convicted Sentsov appealed to the administration of a penitentiary facility where he serves the sentence, with the announcement on a hunger strike,” the statement says.
The representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service claim that for now Sentsov is permanently observed by the prison doctors.

“His heath condition is satisfactory. Health workers will continue observing Sentsov after he announced hunger strike, and they will also conduct analysis for heath observation,” the message says.

This way he demands to release all the Ukrainians kept in Russia and annexed Crimea.

As it is known, Ukrainian movie director Oleg Sentsov and Crimean activist Oleksandr Kolchenko were detained by the Russian FSB in the annexed Crimea. Both were taken to Russia. Sentsov was charged with preparing a terrorist act in Crimea and sentenced to 20 years in the high-security penal colony. Kolchenko was sentenced to ten-years-long imprisonment.
