Nabu, a German non-governmental organization of environmentalists, requested the Greifswald Supreme Administrative Court for an interlocutory decree, which will give the opportunity to consider a complaint against the construction of Nord Stream 2 in the Greifswald Bodden, as Deutsche Welle reported.
As it is reported, Nabu requested the court to make an interlocutory order against the permission for the construction of Nord Stream 2. The CEO of the organization Leif Miller said that the Nord Stream 2 company, which conducts the construction of the gas pipeline, is trying to create a fait accompli for the environmentalists and ignores the threat for the ecosystem of the bay.

The representatives of the organization insist on the fact that the gas pipeline will cause irreparable damage to the fragile ecosystem. Besides, the representatives of Nabu believe that the demand for Russian gas is not that high to construct another gas pipeline.
The start of the excavation is scheduled on May 15.
Earlier, Nord Stream 2 company has already started the construction works on the receiving station in Lubmin on May 3.
