Beating of Ukraine's MP Nayem: suspect taken under house arrest

Magomed Saitov, one of the suspects of an assault on Ukraine’s MP Mustafa Nayem, was taken under house arrest till June 30, as Kyiv Shevchenkivskyi District Court correspondent said on air of 112 Ukraine.
“The Court decided to take Magomed Saitov under house arrest for 60 days. The court session lasted for two hours. The prosecutor applied – imprisonment without a right to a bail, the lawyer asked for a house arrest. The Court considered all the evidence and stated that the prosecution did not prove that Saitov could influence the witnesses or hide from the investigation,” the correspondent stated.

Saitov is suspected under the article of Ukraine’s Criminal Code on vandalism, committed by the group of people.
“On April 30, we expect two more court sessions on applying preventive measures for the individuals who are suspected in the assault on Mustafa Nayem,” the journalist added.
As it was previously reported, in the area of Bessarabska Square in Kyiv on April 30, a people's deputy Mustafa Nayem was beaten. He himself informed about the incident and stressed that the incident is not connected with his political activities.
The same day police detained three people. One of the participants in the conflict with the beating of the People's Deputy Mustafa Nayem on Bessarabska Square, wanted by the police, flew to Baku (Azerbaijan) 2 hours after the incident.  He faces 4 years of imprisonment.
