Vodafone mobile communication was partially recovered in Donbas, as Radio Svoboda reported referring to Donetsk residents.
“The signal has suddenly recovered at around 23:00 (on April 27) in Kirovsky district, mobiles show the full scale. The residents of Budenivsky district informed about the re-establishing of the connection. Other residents inform that there is no connection in Kalininskyi and Kyivskyi districts,” the message says.

As it was reported earlier, the communication problems in the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic emerged on January 11, 2018. The militants stated that the reason for the disconnection was cable damage which is set towards Oleniwka. The Armed Forces was blamed for that as usual. As Vodafone was the only Ukranain operator working on the occupied territories, ORDLO (Separated Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions) residents started purchasing local operator’s packages which work on the equipment “grabbed” from Ukrainians. Donetsk operator Fenix and Luhansk’s Luhak set excessive tariffs for the calls on Ukrainian operators and landlines.
