NATO will not return
to the usual business with Russia until it fulfills the commitments on the Minsk Agreements, withdraw the forces, stop the support of the militants in Donbas and return the control over Crimea to Ukraine. Heather Nauert, the spokeswoman of the U.S. State Department reported this on Twitter.
Sec. Pompeo and NATO Foreign Ministers reaffirm: #NATO will not return to business as usual with #Russia until Russia fulfills its commitments under the Minsk agreements, withdraws forces and support for proxies in the #Donbas, and returns control of #Crimea to #Ukraine.— Heather Nauert (@statedeptspox) April 27, 2018
Today, Mike Pompeo, the new U.S. Secretary of State has arrived at the NATO meeting to discuss the Russian aggression in Ukraine, Syria and Georgia. The recently appointed Secretary of State also will urge the NATO members to increase their military budgets to reach 2% of the GDP for the defense until 2024.
As we reported U.S. Senate committee approved the nomination of President Donald Trump’s choice for secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, on April 26 after a Republican senator who had been opposed threw his support behind the CIA director in the face of party pressure.

Earlier the U.S. State Department claimed that the pro-Russian mercenaries in Donbas got more active in terms of shelling Ukrainian positions in the combat area.
