Boryspil airport to confirm Ryanair slots in May

The state-owned enterprise Boryspil International Airport is expecting to confirm the earlier announced schedule for flights operated by the Irish low-cost airline in May 2018, the director Pavlo Ryabikin said at the Infrastructure Forum 2018 in Kyiv on Thursday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“The Berlin destination has been confirmed on the schedule from September onwards. What concerns the other destinations, we expect those slots to be confirmed by the end of May, and we will be able to tell the departure and arrival time,” Ryabikin said.
 
Ryanair earlier announced it intends to launch flights to and from Kyiv and Lviv in October 2018. Flights are going to connect Kyiv with Barcelona (four flights a week), Bratislava and Wroclaw (three flights per week), Warsaw (four times per week), Krakow (three flights a week), Poznan and Gdansk (two flights per week), Vilnius and Stockholm (three flights a week), London (five times a week). Also, Lviv will be connected with Krakow, Warsaw, Dusseldorf, and London (three times a week).
 
The Boryspil International Airport is Ukraine’s largest airport. It has two runways – 4 km long, 60 m wide and 3.5 km long, 63 m wide. The airport comprises four passenger terminal, with postal and cargo centers, and intends to serve a total of 101,466 flights in the current year, which is 16% greater than in 2017. The quantity of international flights is estimated at 89,363 (an increase of 17.6%), while that of domestic flights is expected to amount to 12,103 (a 5.4% rise).
