First-ever Ukrainian trade mission to visit Ghana
An official trade delegation from Ukraine has begun its operation in Accra, the capital of Ghana, under the framework of the First Ukrainian Trade Mission to the country. The mission is headed by the Ukrainian trade representative and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Nataliya Mykolska, UNIAN reports. 

The mission also includes the representatives of the Export Promotion Office of Ukraine and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister for Agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Olha Trofimtseva, as well as representatives of 14 Ukrainian businesses working in such fields as agriculture, automotive manufacturing and aviation, engineering and IT, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, Business Ghana wrote.
The first ever Ukrainian trade mission to Ghana intends to improve the trade relationship between the two nations, as well as to analyze and discuss the system of foreign trade relations, trade barriers, and legislative features. In order to do so, Ukrainian officials and corporate actors are going to meet with officials and businessmen from Ghana at the Ghana-Ukrainian Business Forum held under the framework of the trade mission on 3 April.

The agenda of the mission also includes on-site market research in local retail networks and the meeting with members of the Ukrainian business diaspora in Ghana. According to the results of 2017, trade turnover between Ukraine and Ghana stood at $193.58 million and indicated a 70.5% growth from the figure a year earlier.
Ukrainian goods are in high demand on the African continent. The top 30 commodities with the largest potential for export to Ghana include ferrous metals and goods, live animals and animal products, engines and pumps, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, electrical equipment. After Ghana, the Ukrainian delegation will continue its mission to Nigeria, where the majority of business and government activities are going to be held on 4-6 April.
