March 12, Oles Tereshchenko, a prominent Ukrainian journalist and a TV anchor died at the age of 43. For the past six months, the journalist has been struggling with cancer: he was treated in Tel Aviv and had chemotherapy in Kyiv. Despite the complicated illness, he did not lose optimism and belief that he would return to work very soon.
"Friends, I have spent these two months in a dynamic and intensive treatment in Kyiv. Four more courses of chemotherapy are ahead. Two of them have been strengthened with an additional drug - for greater effectiveness. But I would have a harder time recovering from them. My main component in the fight against the disease is faith and spiritual development... A tough diet ... A complex of homeopathy and food supplements... A family coziness. Positive emotions and joy from everything and every day - time spent with your relatives, meetings, and conversations with friends, your kind words, pilgrimage, travel, nature, theater and much more... Sorry, but I plan to return to my work only in 2018. God grant, maybe, with a new project! Now I have to undergo treatment. I have just returned from the medical course in Israel. Thank God for stabilization. But we need to go ahead... Thank you, my friends, for your prayers and support. Everything will be fine!" he wrote on Facebook.

It should be noted that Tereshchenko became aware of a serious illness in early August 2017. Then the journalist asked for help with the treatment because it was not cheap. And the people helped him. However, unfortunately, these efforts were not enough.
The farewell ceremony with Oles Tereshchenko is scheduled for March 14. The funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity church in Ioninsky monastery.
The future leading TV presenter of the First National Channel and honored journalist of Ukraine Oles Tereshchenko was born on January 9, 1975, in Donetsk.
Since childhood, he has been interested in journalism, as his father worked as a TV correspondent in the Donetsk region.
According to the official biography, Tereshchenko recorded his first programs together with his brother, using his father's professional tape recorder. These were humorous stories.

In the last year of school, he went with his father on the shoot. He read the stories dozens of times - it was a tough but effective practice. He visited the school of journalism at Donetsk University. And later, in 1991, he entered the journalism faculty of Kyiv National University.
Years of study at the university transformed for Tereshchenko in a permanent job. However, the real TV education he has got in the program "Afterword" by Olexander Tkachenko, where he came to work during his fourth year of study in the Institute of Journalism. In 1997, as part of the "Afterword" team, Tereshchenko created the "TSN" TV show on the "1 + 1" TV channel. And a year later he held his first newscast.
Before 2005, the journalist has been combining his broadcasts job with leading the international news department. He did not miss a single night of elections.

Unfortunately, in 2008 Tereshchenko was forced to leave the post of the main major issue of TSN due to the change of the owner and the editorial policy of "1 + 1".

Since January 2009, a new period has begun in his professional life. The journalist returned to work on state television - the First National Channel. He has been hosting a "Things first" program until the onset of the tragic events in his life.
His last award was the honorary diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2010.
