No progress in hostage release in Donbas, - Poroshenko

Ukrainian News
Ukraine’s President Poroshenko claimed that there is no progress in hostages release in Donbas within more than two months and a half. He said it at the briefing with Federica Mogherini, the Vice-President of the EU Commission,  High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

“I think, that the European diplomacy has to play an important role in terms of hostages release in Donbas. We discussed this issue with Mrs. Vice-President and we see that after an obvious success in December, when 74 Ukrainian hostages were released, and now we do not have any progress again within two months and a half, regardless of exact proposals of Russian side. This regards both hostages, who are illegally kept on the occupied territory and political prisoners, who are kept in Russian prisons,” Poroshenko said.

As we reported earlier, Roman Savkov, the soldier of the 92nd brigade, was exchanged for a woman sentenced in Ukraine for the treason and pardoned by the president of Ukraine. She was transferred to the territory uncontrolled by Kyiv on January 21.
