NATO to conduct large-scale trainings in October

NATO will conduct Trident Juncture trainings in Europe in autumn this year. This training will be the largest one since the Cold War. Robert Neller, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, in the U.S. States House of Representatives.
“We will hold large-scale NATO trainings in October this year. It will be the largest trainings since the Cold War,” the Commandant said.

 He added, that around 45,000 NATO member states will participate in the trainings, along with tens of ships and planes, which are used in maneuvers near Norway – trainings on countering “simulated threat”.
“Yet I think that this shows the significance of our strategy, our European allies want to see our presence there (in Europe, -ed.) and our commitment to their security,” he noted.
Trident Juncture trainings are held three times per year. Ukraine joined 36,000 of NATO member states in the last trainings, conducted in 2015.
