Poroshenko: situation with gas in Ukraine stabilized

KP.UA
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said the situation on gas delivery in Ukraine has been stabilized, according to his briefing broadcasted by 112.ua.
“We can say that the critical situation has been overcome. As of this morning, we have a rapid increase in gas delivery from the European Union: gas deliveries from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary. As of 10:20, the deficit has been fully covered,” Poroshenko said.
He also noted that on Mar. 2, Ukraine decreased consumption of gas by 25 million cubic meters, which is 14%.

As we reported earlier, although Naftogaz paid Gazprom for the resumption of Russian gas supplies in March, Gazprom returned the money, saying that there was no supplementary agreement for this and refused to continue delivery.
This comes as retribution of Gazprom for having lost a $2,5 billion lawsuit against Naftogaz, especially now, when Ukraine and Europe battle with the “Beast from the East” - unusually cold weather conditions that came from Siberia.
On March 2, Naftogaz-Ukraine called on Ukrainians to lower the temperature in offices and households by 1-2 degrees in order to reduce the overall gas consumption and help eliminate the gap created by Gazprom’s actions.
