In the tent city of the protesters under the Ukrainian Parliament, clashes between the protesters and law enforcers occurred, as Head of Kyiv Police Andriy Kryshchenko told 112.ua on air.
According to him, starting early morning, the police was supposed to conduct an investigation in the tent city, according to the decision of the court.
“Resistance began, (the protesters) started burning tires. The police took measures for ensuring the conduction go the investigative measures. The emergency service quickly extinguished the tires. At the moment, it is known that six people out of those who were at the tent city went to get medical help. Fifty people were detained,” Kryshchenko said.

He added that now the police officers started the investigation in the tent city under two criminal procedures: the events of Feb. 27 near the Parliament, when 14 police officers were wounded, and the events near the October palace in 2017, when police officers were also wounded. As to the events of Feb. 26, a few protesters were informed about suspicion.
“The inspection (of the tent city) continues, a few objects that resemble grenades were seized. Molotov cocktails were pre-made, as well as some sticks sharpened,” Kryshchenko added.
As we reported earlier, protests were held under the Verkhovna Rada on Feb. 26. The protesters brought tires right next to the building and tried to set them on fire. The police tried to stop them, but the protesters started throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at them. 14 law enforcers were wounded.
