Court obliges Ukrainian authorities to provide documents on Saakashvili's citizenship case

The Supreme Court as a part of the Cassation Administrative Court satisfied the number of the motions of the advocates of Mikheil Saakashvili, the former President of Georgia in the case of the revoking of his Ukrainian citizenship. The will continue hearing on this issue on March 16 as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
It is noted that the court made a decision on the motion of the Saakashvilis defense to obtain on demand the document that became the ground for the provision of the Ukrainian citizenship to Saakashvili in 2015 and its revoking in 2017 from the Administration of the President of Ukraine.

Also, the court decided to demand the documents on the refusal of the Ukrainian side to extradite Saakashvili on the request of the law enforcement bodies of Georgia in 2015 from the Prosecutor Generals Office.
The Cassation Administrative Court satisfied the motion of the Saakashvilis lawyers that State Migration Service of Ukraine should be engaged in the case of the legality of the revoking of his Ukrainian citizenship as the third party.

Ruslan Chornolutski, the advocate of Saakashvili explained that the court will consider the motion of the defense on the personal attendance of Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine in the court as the sued person and witness and involvement of the members of the committee of the president on the citizenship who made the decision that became the ground of the Poroshenkos order to revoke the citizenship of Saakashvili as the witnesses.
Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine revoked the Ukrainian citizenship of Saakashvililast July on the basis of the false data that is indicated in the form for the Migration Service.

On Sep. 22, 2017, the Mostysky court in Lviv found Saakashvili guilty of unlawfully crossing Ukraines border. In January 2018, the District administrative court of Kyiv refused Saakashvilis appeal to the Migration service as to recognizing him a refugee. On Feb. 6, the court denied this claim again.
As we reported on February 12,Saakashvili was detained by the task force of the Border Guard Servicein a restaurant in downtown Kyiv. Also,Mikheil Saakashvili, a former Governor of Odesa region and ex-President of Georgia, was readmitted to Poland, from where he illegally came to Ukraine last September.
LaterSaakashvili came to the Netherlands and got the ID cardthere that allows him to live and work in the EU.
